When did you open for business?

Renovate 918, LLC signed our first contract in July of 2014.  We've been in business over 6 years.

How much will my building project cost?

Every project is unique and costs can vary widely between contractors.  You should always get a few estimates from reputable builders and ensure they are licensed and insured before accepting offers.

A reputable contractor will almost certainly avoid providing estimates over the phone, and you should consider it a 'red flag' should they.

Also, depending on the scope of your project, you may not get an estimate the day of visiting with a reputable contractor.  Complex projects may require time and calculation to provide the most accurate project cost.

Will my project require a building permit?

Maybe. Every project is unique.  Once an assessment of your project is done, we'll be able to advise you better.

As a general rule, any new footprint on the property, including any grading will require permitting. Additions would require permitting, however many remodels may require little to no permitting.

You should always check with your local city and county permitting offices prior to starting a project on your own.  As, a Renovate 918, LLC client, we manage all compliance for you, including permitting and inspections.

Will my project require a building inspection?

Maybe. Building inspections are generally mandated by local ordinance and are typically dependent on the scope of work on "restricted" property.

Code compliance can be a difficult topic to navigate and without industry knowledge and experience, you're likely to find more questions than answers.  Even homeowners on "unrestricted" property can find themselves under unexpected code enforcement and penalties can be high.

Rest assured, if your project requires inspection, we will meet or exceed code to ensure a safe and healthy home for you, your family, and any future occupants, which is the intent of compliance.

Will my project meet local building code?

Yes. Renovate 918, LLC only uses licensed skilled trades professionals and we work under permit where required.  This ensures our projects and our quality of craftsmanship always meet or exceed local state and county building codes.

How do I get a permit? How do I schedule an inspection?

As a Renovate 918, LLC client, we handle all compliance for you, including permitting and inspections. Each project is unique and may or may not require permitting and/or licensing.  You should always check with your local permitting offices prior to starting any project on your own.

If a permit is required, inspections will occur at the appropriate phase of construction and as submitted with your plan.  Of course these inspections can always be rescheduled, but may come as an expense if not providing timely notice.

Can you work with my supplied materials?

Yes.  If you have materials on hand which are suitable to your application and in good order, we'd be happy to put them to use.

That said, we don't straighten nails or clean mortar from used bricks or refurbish materials in any way. Materials should be stored properly and within expiration date (if applicable).

Can you work with my vendors?

Yes. We're not a manufacturer or distributor of building products, nor do we endorse or benefit from the sale of building products.

Our only concern is that you love the result.  Of course we'll advise when there is a more affordable or other beneficial option.

Do you work on mobile homes?

Yes. Renovate 918, LLC does work on mobile homes depending on the project.  We do not service mobile home plumbing, electrical, or hvac.

We do however, install decking, sheds, garages, flooring, drywall, cabinets, and more.

If you have questions about your project, email us.

Can I verify the license status of a skilled trades professional?

Yes. In Oklahoma and many states, you can check or verify the status of licensed skilled trades professionals online.

In Oklahoma, skilled trades are managed by the Oklahoma CIB (Construction Industries Board). They setup an 'Are They Licensed?' page where you can verify building and home inspectors, roofing contractors, plumbers, electricians, and mechanical licensees.

As a Renovate 918, LLC client, you won't need to concern yourself with skilled trades professionals as we screen all subcontractors working on your project and require that they carry all required coverages and licenses.

How long will my project take?

Varies. Much like the cost of a project, the duration typically requires a thorough project estimate be done.  Once we're able to assess your project, we will build an estimate which can also tell us how long on average each task will take and the estimate will total these hours so we can provide you with the most realistic time frame.

Will there be a mess during my project?

Yes. Unfortunately, with any construction and remodeling or renovation project there's going to be construction debris, dust, materials and product packaging, and possibly some new smells which can be considered an environmental nuisance, such as aerosols, solvents, paints and other fumes.

There also may be environmental hazards which may require supervision and/or isolation of pets, children, and special needs individuals.  Please plan accordingly for some disruption in your normal routines.

You WILL NOT have to deal with our personal trash, food containers, or cigarette butts.  We WILL use refuse containers, roll-offs, dumpsters and trailers to contain on-site trash and debris and every effort will be made to maintain a clean worksite, as will every precaution be made to maintain a safe worksite.

Can I help with my project?

Yes. You are the property owner and you are permitted to do just about anything you like with it, however for insurance purposes, we cannot permit clients or uninsured contractors work alongside our crew while on the worksite.  You can complete individual phases of the project at your own accord.
